A fine summer morning-
When, blissfully unaware,
Of the extra pounds
That crept up, unnoticed,
Suddenly, they beckoned:
We're here to take up residence
They said, cloyingly honeyed.
Of course, you don't mind?
And with sickeningly sweet determination,
They refused to budge!
Mission Control was called to order.
Threat levels at an all time high,
Strategies to be evolved,
The infiltration had to be dislodged!
But, How?
The tongues wagged,
And tummies wobbled-
The chins grew double,
And the posterior...
Hush! The disquiet grew foreboding!
Sacrifice of the Highest Order
Now called for:
The Army of the
Gorgeous Gargantuan Giggling Googlies
Took their Oath:
First:
Get up early, for starters
(Cripes! Says Giggling Googly The Elder,
No Way!)
Next:
Put on your walking shoes.
(Whining, Giggling Googly The Middle says
Can't I walk, in my Car?)
Finally:
Walk, an hour.
(10 minutes into it, Giggling Googly Baby bawls
I want my mummmmmyyyyy!!!)
So much for that oath!
A Pledge then-
The Gorgeous Threesome Once again,
In unison cried
Yesssss!
Giggling The Middle, did the honours:
No unsaturated fat!
(Amen! Saturated with it,
It was all they could do
To say Amen!!!)
No Sweets
No Sugar
No Rice
No Potato
The horror grew on the other faces
Elder, and Baby
As Middle recited the list!
In between she stopped
For breath-
And to munch a Pringle,
Beaming her 1000 watt smile...
She finished, the Pringle.
.
.
.
The baby set out to write her list
Elder and middle watching her, pleased
Pride shining in their googly eyes
(And suddenly a chocolate in her pocket they espy
The baby petulant - cant I naughty once in a while)
Gleaming eyes theirs too become
A share in the chocolate wanted all
With desire rich, they overwhelm..
Slaves to the desire dragon they fall..
And so the Charter to another day was set
Instead, a merry feast on the table they met!
Waiting to be devoured, waiting to be demolished
Just as their Intentions Noble...
